Staying Healthy in the Winter

Its that time of the year where the weather changes and people around you start getting sick. Over the last 10 years when flu season came around, I never got sick. With consistent exercising, eating healthy and taking the right vitamins and minerals, helped me to avoid getting a flu or cold. My immune system was strong. I would consistently take my daily vitamin C, get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water and take my essential oil supplements and oils.

This year I decided to try to leave out those important elements and test how weak my immune system can be. Due to starting a new job, my stress levels increased, my sleep schedule decreased, I decreased my exercise activities and my eating habits changed because of the holidays. I also stopped taking my vitamins, minerals and essential oils. Guess what? To my surprise, I got sick. I was literally sick for two weeks and could not shake my cough or feeling of exhaustion and feeling restless. I am always on the go and really started to work my body to the daily elements that many experience when they get too busy.

To get back on track, I set my schedule to allow me to go to sleep early to get my 7 to 8 hours of sleep. I increased my water intake, started taking my vitamins and minerals and started exercising again. My eating habits are back to incorporating nuts, fruits and vegetables and limiting my meat consumption to once a week. It is amazing how diet can influence how one can feel. I am a firm believer with taking care of body, will in return make you feel good again. Remember, take time for yourself and listen to your body.

I incorporate a number of different elements to my daily diet. With the Youngevity products, I take the following products for my daily routine during the flu season to help keep me going and keep my immune system strong.

  • Thieves® Vitality

  • Super Câ„¢ chewables

  • ImmuProâ„¢
