Apple Juice vs. Apple Cider Juice


Ever wonder what type of juice is better for you, Apple Juice or Apple Cider? Many people who try to watch what they drink and reduce the amount of sugar they get from regular sodas, will prefer apple juice over sodas. Although sodas are more harmful due to the amount sugars, chemicals and dyes to make the color brown, apple juice is better, however, when possible, apple cider is much healthier for you. Apple juice is clear because many of the nutrients and pulp are removed, and contain sugar to give it that transparent look.

That leaves apple cider juice as the beverage of choice. Apple cider is packed with nutrients called phytochemicals that help fight radicals in the body that damage the body and age people quickly. Apples contain antioxidants called polyphenols that can help reduce the risk of cancer and improve brain functions. Because apple cider juice contains the skin and seeds, which are high in the polyphenols. Antioxidants work in the body by help eliminating reactive molecules known as free radicals. The molecules then damage the body's cell's by changing the enzymes or DNA in your body. When your body's cells are changing, this can lead to cancer and other diseases that are part of aging. It is important that you incorporate foods with high antioxidants to help protect your body from various forms of diseases.

Tt is recommended to have at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, if you have a choice between apple juice or apple cider juice, go with the juice that has the nutrients, apple cider juice.
