How to Protect Your Immune System
Your immune system in your body is the security system of your home. It takes a number of elements in order to keep it safe. Just like your home which can be compromised, so can your health. When your immune system is not protected, your body will become sick and possibly develop a disease which can be life threatening. Just like your home alarm system, your immune system can repair itself with a number of methods. Because your immune system contains billions of white blood cells which help with acknowledging the germs and responding to various types of threats. So what can you do to help your immune system stay strong?
Reduce the amount of stress you have on your body. This includes both mental and physical stresses. Yes, your body does need some level of stress and yes, it hard to completely eliminate stress but how you handle it is another story.
Exercise, remember to incorporate some form of exercise. At least 20-30 minutes a day. It can be taking a brisk walk, weight training, running or PraiseMoves. This is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system.
Proper Nutrition, if you do not consume the right foods that include fruits and vegetables, then your body is lacking the essential nutrients. Remember, a proper balance in food is critical. Fast foods and foods high in bad fats and cholesterol will do harm than good. Remember, to drink plenty of water vs. sodas or sugary drinks. This can add significant pounds to your waistline, decrease your tooth enamel and introduce deadly toxins to your body.
Mental clarity and health. Remember, not only are the physical attributes important but the mental aspects as well. Stay happy and keep a positive outlook on life. As soon as you start looking at the glass half empty, depression sets in and soon the mental health starts affecting the physical health. Talking to someone to vent vs. keeping your frustration inside is healthy. Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you feel like you are taking on too much, learn to say no and delegate. Remember, God did not create the world and everything in it in one day. Learn to make time for yourself and prioritize.
Aromatherapy and Essential Oils are also important to keeping physical and mental clarity. Home diffusers work great for the office and home.
Spiritual awareness is important. Having a relationship with God and knowing your purpose in life is essential. I have witnessed a large number of people who are depressed or lost and sick because they do not have faith or trust in God. When you start having a strong relationship with God, He delivers His promise to us, that for those who Trust in Him and follow Him, He will guide us to our path. “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6).
